As many of you know, our road system has been improving, one lane at a time all
over the Montgomery County area. At a recent Houston Association of Realtors
meeting a representative from TXDOT shared with us many of the plans for the
future and completions of improvements to our highways. I've never been in a
place that is growing so quickly and where the state is having to think, way in
advance, to plan for expansion. She reported that Montgomery County is setting
the pace for the rest of the state. FM improvements whould be happening in the
next 1-2 years on FM 1488 and FM 1485. I-45 will soon be completed up to the
south loop 336 and from there to north loop 336 construction will start by the
end of 2007. On SH 242, a connector ramp will be constructed in 2008. For
more information you can go to www.KeepTexasMoving.org. This is all to help
alleviate our growth challenges. What a great place to live.

Montgomery County Fair Is Here! - March 22, 2007
It's that great time of year again, when the weather is beautiful, the homes are selling well and we are looking forward to fun and friendships at the Mongomery County 4-H Fair which starts tomorrow, Friday, March 23 and continues until Sunday, April 1. Our county does a great job of supporting the youth in this area with all the 4-H projects, animal showings, and scholarships that are awarded to students headed for college. Last year $1,000,000 was awarded many of our youth for their committments. Today at the Chamber of Commerce Luncheon at April Sound, we heard from this year's fair president, Pat Davis, who shared with us all about the 40-2006 scholarships of $2500 each which were awarded to those outstanding 4-H young people, last year, who had worked long and hard with their animals. What a great experience for them. Check out their website for more information. The tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. For anyone who is visiting or who lives in the Conroe area, this is a real special event. Come and bring your whole family. -- Linda Dayen
